G.O.A.L. PROGRAM-HISPANIC INITIATIVE SPONSORED BY MEMBERS FIRST CREDIT UNION
|
The Fisher Cats have teamed up with Members First Credit Union to bring Hispanic children together with their leaders in the G.O.A.L. (Get Out And Learn) Program-Hispanic Initiative. Last night marked the second installment of the program this season. Children from City Year met with Tony Matos, the founder and President of Altos Marketing Group. Tony talked to the children about the importance of being bicultural, and challenged them to take pride in their 'roots'. After the group discussion, the children were given tickets to the New Britain Rock Cats/New Hampshire Fisher Cats Game courtesy of Members First Credit Union, where they met Fisher Cats pitcher Julio Pinto, who resides in Valencia, Venezuela in the off-season. The Fisher Cats and Members First Credit Union are looking forward to continuing the G.O.A.L. Program for the remainder of the 2008 Season, and for many more years to come. For more information on the program, please contact Danielle Matteau at 603-606-4177. | |
